There are good days and bad days... but how many hands/how much of your overall gambling money would you play before leaving a blackjack table due to losing hand after hand ?

I went in and played 7 hands won the second hand got a push on the third and lost every other hand so called it a day everyone else at the table (it was full) was having bad luck and three of the people bought more chips during my short time at the table - my friend and I did'nt want to risk that.

So my question is how many hands do you personally play before leaving ? or do you wait for a reshuffle ? or otherwise ?

  1. Mathematically, walking out of a shoe at ANY time is in your best interest for a non professional so do so by all means.

The best way is to just set a simpler limit, instead of countign how many win/losses in a row you head, just stuff a fixed amount of cash in your pocket before walking onto the floor and if you lose it so be it, regardless of how many hands you played, its 100% acurate to the rules you set forth earlier in the day.  Also it frees your mind to start counting cards instead of how many times in a row you just lost.

For me as a card counter, i am forced to wait untill the shuffle before leaving the table, otherwise my edge will dissapear.

There is no trend to how wins and losses play out, the only way to set a limit is to set a dollar limit, if you dont you will find yourself chasing your losses, which is something you dont want to do.

  2. 14....i count cards and i'm good.    they usually bounce me in less than ten minutes......

  3. Leave when you feel like leaving.  Sometimes I will sit down and place a really nice bet (black chip) if I hit I stay, if I miss, I go play poker.  With that being said, if you are beat mentally, it is best to go, if you feel good, stay.

I would like to ask sandy a question though, being the card counter that you are, how do you loose the edge by leaving a table for the evening prior to the shuffle?  that makes no sense, what so ever.  If you leave, there is no need for an edge at the table. I mean, if I was counting cards, and not winning, heck and wanting to leave, especially if the count was a negative 7 or higher, I would just up and leave, why waste more of your chips???

  4. If I know what I'm doing at a 21 table I play until The $$ I'm willing to lose is gone.

I can't count cards.  I sit at the far left seat to make sure that no other player is s******g up the deal. I like to sit at the $5 min.  tables and double my losing bets hoping I'll win before I run out of $$.

  5. Um, play lower limits.  If you call it a day after losing 6 or 7 hands, you should be playing less.  If you're playing the lowest limit allowed, you shouldn't be playing at all.  But, if you mean just walking out on a shoe that's not going so well, it's a judgment call.
