  1. Your pony is borderline of being too small for you.  You are an adult size and I'd recommend a horse between 14.2 and 15 hands.

  2. i think you are too big. your heel shouldnt exceed her barrel so i would say a horse between 15hh and 16.1hh

  3. I am 5'10" and 190 lbs and I have had many horses in the 14:2-15 h:h range it all comes down to what you are doing and how much bone below the knee your pony has....Good luck

  4. well im 5'2" and have a 16.2hh thoroughbred so i think anything above 15hh would be alright.

although look at Karen O'Conner! i know shes not thaaat tall but Teddy was only 14.1hh!  ahh he was amazing may he rest in peace =,(

  5. Your a little big you should get a horse from 15 hh or bigger so you can ride it forever!

  6. If your pony is built, not dainty, then get as many years out of her as you can.  What does your coach say? Do you show? If you don't show, and both you and your pony are comfortable, who cares. Next, as long as you are still a junior, I would go to a large pony, 14.1-14.2hh for you. Then, when you are an adult, and move to a horse, don't just get one that fits you. A 15hh horse will have a more difficult time getting around a course set at 12 feet than a 16.2hh horse. For you I'd find a 16hh, medium built horse. I'm one to talk though, I'm only 5'7" and have an 18hh 4 year old...

A picture of you on the pony would settle this though. But as I said before, as long as you are both comfortable, and not showing, it doesn't matter.

  7. I'm 5'8 and ride a 14.2 mule. Just because your tall people doesn't mean it's ALL in the legs. Some peoples torsos are long so there legs won't hang below the horses barrel. I'd say go with what your comfortable with and what the horse carry with ease...

  8. Maybe you should ride a 14.3 horse. But for right now you can continue riding your baby...

  9. not too bad, Id say go for a pony in the 14hh area!

  10. No I think your fine unless your pony's cant handle it. Reining horses are about 14 hands, take a look at this vid. http://www.valleyviewranch.net/milagro_y...
