How many hermit crabs should be in a ten gallon tank?

we have a ten gallon fish tank and currently have two hermit crabs in it...we would like to get more but dont want em to be crowded..are there any specific spacial requirements for hermit crabs.

2 is the best just incase they get big 2 or 3 at the most. that way they can have there own space and chill.

6-8 Baby ones, Once they grow upgrade

you should be able to get 5-6 without crowding them just make sure you a nuff food and water and also shells
