How many hermit crabs should i start out with?

I just bought 2 hermit crabs should i have gotten more i saw a website that said i should at least have 4 to start taking care of my hermit crabs but i wasn't sure so im double checking.Is it true?

i would take care of one or two to see if it works out or not,......like if they die.....

Well it all depends on if you are a good pet owner.

If you think you are a good pet owner and can handle having 4 hermit crabs then do it. but if r hesatentabout having 4 and just want to see how you do with 2 then do that.

2 is right. if oyu want to do the best job in the world go to petsmart they have good hermit crab supplies. You should get the bathing salt and the cookies for the hermit crabs.

i started out with two and they lived for about 5 years!

thats there life span in a tank!

i had a hermit crab before. they are better in numbers but if you have never had a hermit crab before one or two is a good number. it also depends on how big your cage is. if it is small one or two is good, if it is medium 4 is ok also for a large cage 4 is ok. they may not move too much but they need their space.
