  1. At my peak when I was competing all the time, I was training 2-3 hours a day 6 days a week. I think that is really what it takes to get the absolute most out of your art and body. Now again you have to listen to your body and respond when it tells you something is wrong. You can't spar full contact 6 days a week because it will break you down over time, but you can mix your days up and mix your workouts up. Always try to keep your body and mind adapting to the changes you are bringing into your training. I have found that is what worked best for me, but we are all different and what worked for me may not work for you. I think anyone would benefit though from constantly changing your routine up a bit to keep it interesting and to keep your body and mind active and adapting.

  2. 24, if your a real man

  3. I don't think 20 minutes is going to really play a significant role on improving. And if your training yourself, you may want to seek an instructor, at least until you learn the basics. Because from there on out, if your dedicated you can improve on your own. I am constantly punching on something, I mean at all hours of the day. I would advise that you see a teacher but you can still make progress without one. The MF guy above me was just trying to be smart, but if you do watch lots of uFC it will wear off on you. You won't become a chuck liddell but, you will probably learn a little bit more about the sport.

I think I already asked you in one of your other questions but, go to

www.fight-site.com It could be of some help.

Your gonna have to be a perfectionist if your teaching yourself. If a punch you throw doesn't look like one someone else throws try to make yours match up. That kinda thing.

Wish you the best of luck.

  4. Train for as long as your body lets then rest and enjoy the result after healing.

  5. 2-3 hours

  6. To gain moderate skill you should train at least an hour a day, your MA instructor would tell you the same and that training for anything less than 30 minutes is worthless. If you want an edge on the other students go to 2 hours a day, if you want to really impress your instructor go to 3. Anything more than 3 hours a day is professional/competition level training.

    Happy Training!

  7. train longer like a few hours a day. don't forget rest days also. rest is a part of your training.

  8. 6 to 8 hours a week should do the trick. In 3 to 4 two hour classes is also a good idea.
