  1. two and a half to three hours. usually, they can go in the morning or in the afternoon.

  2. It depends on the pre-k that your children will be at.  Usually Pre-K lasts from 8 until 2 which is 6 hours but some Pre-K lasts just as long as a regular school day from 7:30 until 3:30. It just depends on which pre-k your children will be going to

  3. Where I live in Arkansas, the children go all day 8-3 in kindergarten.

  4. In Ohio I went all day, but this was a private school. The public elementary school I went to afterwords they only had to go half a day. It depends on what type of school you're looking at. I imagine it's still similar to now. I can't answer for Toronto, but that was my experience.

  5. Half day schools are usually 3-3.5 hours and fullday can be upwards to 6 hours.

  6. in the u s children can attend kindergarten for as little as 3 hours(half day) or as many as 6 hours(modified full day) very few programs actually last a full day (6.5 hrs for most regular elementary school) and most programs offer daycare/afterschool care after those hours.

private schools offer about the same type of hours and afterschool/daycare hours....but may offer more programs that match their number of hours they are open ...i have worked in programs where the children go as long as 6.5 hrs and then move on to daycare portion of the day(which can also begin before the "school day" begins---in some schools as early as 6am and end at 6pm---with school taking up from 8 am to 1pm average)

and in some cases the school whether public or private may also have facilities for the younger child also...public either headstart or state funded programs and private preschool with daycare after(see above time frames)

you aslo need to know that the most prized spaces are in the full(modified or actual full day) programs so if you want to work even half days yourself you need to get your child or children enrolled as soon as you know where you will be living...as each state/ and local district has their own rules and numbers of spaces avail before your child or children have to go on a waiting list for either the school or daycare programs

  7. in austarlia kinder starts at 9am to 3pm

  8. I know  i should not answer but kids in the US either go half a day from like 8-11 at some schools, and then at other schools they go full day. But at most private schools the kids go all day. at public they have both options however now most public schools have some type of day care program on campus that can care for your little ones after they get out of school if it i s early.

But here is the website for the Toronto schools.. hope you find a better answer

  9. Many schools vary, and some offer in-site before/after school care programs.  (generally speaking most start no earlier than 8:00 and no later than 9:00, and get out at 2:30 or 3:30 respectively or 10:30 or 11:30 for 1/2 day K).

Here is the website for the Toronto Board of Education.

You should be able to contact them and find out in general what they do there, or if you know where you are moving you can even even find the school your children will attend and contact them to ask.

    Good Luck

  10. 17hrs
