  1. Hi there Ster.

There isn't actually a Rossendale train station, but the nearest is probably Accrington, about five or six miles away.

The train journey from Oxford to Accrington takes around 3 hours 45 mins. You take a Crosscountry train from Oxford to Birmingham New Street, from there you catch a Virgin train to Preston, where you change to a local service (Northern Rail) to Accrington.

There is another route with just one change, but weirdly it takes a lot longer (5 hours 30 mins)... if an easy journey is more important to you than a fast one, you need a Crosscountry train to Leeds, then a Northern Rail train to Accrington.

If you buy your ticket in advance (I use http://www.thetrainline.com ), it'll cost £26.50 each way.

    Hope that helps.

  2. It is approx 4hrs

  3. Go to www.thetrainline.co.uk and check out the journey planner. It'll tell you how long , how many changes etc.
