  1. If I were you, I wouldnt think of the hours that i put in, as long as I am comfortable driving and parking, I would drive.

Me, personally, I learned to drive by myself. So I would say, I took about 2 3 hours to get confident for the driving test.

A tip, don't try to show off your driving skills, on the test, just try to stick to the basics.

  2. Some time ago in the last century (I feel so old), I think we had to take 16 hours classroom and 4 hours behind the wheel. This was through the driver's ed. program at the high school.

Confidence will come with time and its different with each person. Mostly it comes from knowing yourself, your abilities and limitations  and the capability of your vehicle.

Don't push it. Just take it slow and easy.

    All the best.

  3. i drove probably 80-90 hours (100 hours is supposedly required in my state) total before i passed my test and was confident in my driving skills.

  4. That was back in 1973 and I dont remember but I can tell you that the moment that you start to feel confident is the time that you will have something happen to you.

Driving is an everyday learning experience and the more that you drive by the rules of the road the more you will learn and understand how many other people still dont know how to drive....

  5. forget state laws about hours. i am from NY and they are the only state I know of that requires you to practice for 20 hours (compared to other states that force you to do 50 hours and 10 at night). Anyways, I drove as much as i can with my mom and dad and i always begged them to drive and all that. if i wouldnt have done all this, i wouldnt have passed mt road test at 1st try

  6. I'm not sure what it is in other states but in TN, you have to drive a certain amount of hours. I tried to look it up but was unsuccessful in finding the answer. The road test is easy. It's easier than the knowledge test. I had my permit for a year before I got my license and passed it without any problems.
