  1. Bartenders work a variety of shifts depending on the daily activites.  Most bars are staffed with 2 - 3 bartenders every day.  If they have a special activity that requires additional staff they will have only 1 - 2 bartenders and use the extra in another activites.  Each bartender signs a contract at employment and they advise how many months they want in their contract.  Contracts can be from 4 - 18 months long.  They stay on the ship the whole time.  Each employee does recieve days off while onboard also.  This varies and can be 2 - 8 days a month.

Regarding the hours it can be any where from 8 - 16 hours in a day.

  2. You can work up to 18 hours a day.  Cruise ships make the most of their staff.  You will have other duties along with bartending.  It takes a lot to keep a floating city on the move.

  3. Yes, they do work very long hours.I have been on one Cruise, we talked to some of the Employees who work on the Ships. There are people on there from all over the world. The few we talked to work on the Ship for 6 months and then go home for 6 months.
