A professional would be characterized by one who made their living by playing the piano.  So for professionals who are working practice itself may only be an hour or 2, but then the gig itself (or more than 1 gig) voulf be 6-8 hours a day.

My dad is a professional pianist and he doesn't practice on his day off, but other days it depends on what the gig is and how prepared he needs to be.
