How many hours does a Pilot in the American Military have to have?

before they are turned loose "Solo"? In a F-16 or F-15 or something.

  1. I know this much it takes 50 hours to receive a ppc {private pilot license.and one solo prior to 25 hours.then you start working on your ratings instrument ,multi engine,jet,commercial.I knew i pilot who was working on these for the military and if i can remember I think it was around 2000

The program is built to start with 0 time.  In SUPT (Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training) you will fly the T-37/T-6 Texan II through Primary for about 120 or so hours, then (if going to fighters) will move to the T-38 for another 120 or so.  The graduating pilot will then go through IFF (Introduction to Fighter Fundementals) plus some other schools (Water Survival, Land Survival, etc.) and then get to RTU (Replacement Training Unit) for his fighter.  There, he'll solo in about 12 hours flying time, an Instrument checkride and an EP (Emergency Procedures) simulator which must be passed first.
