How many hours of homework should an eighth grader get in one night?

it depends at what time of the year.if its just any time about 1 or 2 if its around finals time 3 or more.

In Vermont it is whatever it take to keep him off the street and away from those evil hippies.  For the rest of the 49 states I would say about an hour a night.

well i don't think it should be more than 1hour and a half

unless it is a big project

It depends on the difficulty of the classes. Back in jr. high, they told us we should be able to devote an hours worth of studying for every core class (math, english, etc.)

If you're talking about how MUCH homework an eighth grader should get, well, who knows. Schools tend to keep lowering their standards on tests, yet keep upping the amoung of homework they give their students - anything over an hour per class a night (projects aside) is too much for a jr. high student.
