How many hours on a flight is too long for you? How do you feel about flight over the Atlantic or Pacific?

  1. Well, being a business frequent travellers myself, what i consider long flight would be a direct non-stop flight from Singapore to LA or Singapore to Newark (both of them flight over Atlantic and Pacific, non-stop)

It is a 18 hrs flight to LA and around 20hrs to Newark. That would be the longest non-stop flight in the world.

Flying through Atlantic is much better than Pacific as I'm living in Asia, going pass the time down in Atlantic doesn't get you much jetlags as Pacific date line

  2. 4 hours is enough...after 3 i start to get scared lol. That Turbulance scares the h**l out of me!

And idk if i ever want to fly over the oceans...I've heard to many stories D:

  3. The longest flight I've been on was 8 hours, and it was LONG. However, after a while it doesn't really matter any more, what's 1 more hour in 8? What's 1 more hour in 9?

If I were to fly again any time soon I would definitely bring GOOD noise canceling headphones, and I would bring a couple of books, and load my phone up with a good selection of music.

Aeroplanes are far too loud in my opinion, so it would make sleeping difficult without the headphones. I don't think I have a maximum length I'd be willing to sit there though, because when I get there it'd be somewhere fantastic and far away! It's the light at the end, the silver lining, the some other metaphor for something good.

Who cares if the movement is restricted, the air quality is poor, it's too hot, it's too loud, the films are c**p and you only have a small screen to watch them on? You're going somewhere new and exciting!

And if you're not going somewhere new, and you're coming back home, you're coming home!

  4. 11 hours is enough for me. After that my butt hurts and I start to feel claustrophobic.

  5. It depends on the type of aircraft and how full it is.  A tightly packed plane on even a short flight is less enjoyable than a long flight on a big plane with a lighter load.  Flying over the oceans is fine...it can actually be smoother than flying over land and mountains, but not always.  Flying is the fastest way to travel...when I get bored I think of where I'd be if I took the car or train instead.

  6. I flew to India once.  It took like 2 and a half days.  I went from Minneapolis to Dallas, to New York, to London, to Mumbai, then to Hyderabad.  The longest stretch was from London to Mumbai, and it was like 14 hours I think.  And I cannot sleep on a plane, no matter what.

I've also flown to Israel, and that was like 14 hours, and to Sydney, Australia.  Australia to Los Angeles was like 15 hours, I think.  Because of the day change, I arrived in LA about a half hour before I left Sidney (10 am departure from Sydney, 9:30 am arrival in LA).

I have no problem flying over the Atlantic or Pacific, obviously.

As long as I have entertainment, like some good movies, or my Ipod, I can fly for a long time.  My tailbone and knees really start to hurt, though.

  7. a 5 hour flight is Way to much.it all depends what type of person u are though.i would kill myself on one of those long flights

  8. the longest i've ever flown is 3 hrs and it's not too bad. all you have to do is keep yourself occupied. going to the islands was over water and i think it's a lot prettier than flying over land. it's all preference though! good luck if you're flying :)
