How many human beings since the first one ?

I know we are approximately 6,000,000 human beings right now. Do we approximately know how many human beings there have been until now, including us ?

A couple of stabs at this have been done - using known populations and pop. growth rates from different times in history.

These are necessarily inaccurate, as:

- proper pop. figures have only really been kept for 2 or 3 centuries

- we don't know when to stop counting backwards, as the time at which H. sapiens arrived is not known precisely.

But figures range from 45 Billion to 125 Billion (with most estimates being in the range of 90-110 Billion).

i dont think there is anyway to know that because cavemen didnt keep records and i dont think certain tribes today keep good records at best they can estimate.
