On the Titleist Pro V1 there are 392 dimples. On the older versions of this ball, it was marked on the side of the ball.

It all depends on the make and model of golf ball. There is no standard to the number of dimples on a golf ball. On average a golf ball can have 300 to 450 dimples, sometimes as many as 500.

The dimples help in the aerodynamics of the ball, much like the shape of the underside of a airplane wing, they help the ball stay aloft for a longer period of time.
