Question:

How many interceptions can Favre throw and still be the starter for the Jets?

In '05 and '06 he was losing games for the Packers and should have been benched. They didn't have the nuts to do so...

Will Mangini and company have the inner strength to do what's best for the team when the time comes? Or will they cave in and let Favre do what Favre wants?

  1. Well, they dont have a much better option at this point but I wouldnt think they'd hesitate to pull him late in the season if the team isnt going anywhere and he's stinking it up. Favre isnt in Green Bay anymore, the fans of New York dont love him enough to bully the front office into doing what he wants them to do, like they could in Green Bay. There is another thing to consider. Depending on how Favre does depends on the draft pick the Jets have to send the Packers. If they are sitting at 1-6, with little hope of making the playoffs. I'd look for Favre to be benched, regardless of how he's playing.

  2. Yeah, Favre throws a lot of interceptions. So did Chad Pennington.

The difference is, Favre can also throw for an 80 yard touchdown pass and put it right into the receivers hands.

He's one of those Bradshaw type of quarterbacks that is good but has to throw an interception a game for some reason.

But I don't think the Jets have any better options at QB than the 3 time-but-possibly-senile MVP

  3. Who else do they have?  they still have a better chance with Favre even if he does throw 20 interceptions.

  4. he can throw all the interceptions he wants...he is brett favre.

  5. As many as he wants I would think !!

  6. I think if he keeps s******g up......Mangini has the balls to kick his *** to the curb.....

  7. Wow! you re only a few years too late! You obviously don't remember what he did last year? Interceptions or not he led Green Bay to the NFC Championship Game! The AFC Championship is something the Jets could only pray for! They'll let him throw all the interceptions he can if that's what the outcome is!!

  8. As many as he wants he's bret farve he can do what ever he wants to. lol.

If he has more TD then interception he will still be the starter.

  9. they'll cave.

  10. he'll throw at least 30 this year and not get benched

  11. Brett can throw as many as he wants because in his whole life playing football on a team there was never a good back-up quarterback for him thats why nobody benched him, he never had a back-up that if he failed can win games and take them to a playoffs, Kellen Clemons, is not a good qb like Brett so he would never be benched, Clemons can't take them to the playoffs only Brett can.

  12. He may well throw 30 TD and 30 int this year being the careless gunslinger that he is.  Remember Packers coach Ray Rhodes?  He let Favre do whatever he wanted and look at how things turn out?  The question is can Mangini maintain Favre and make him play ball control football?  Because if he lets Favre air it out, Favre will make some bone headed throws... i.e. his throw that ended the Packers season last year.  I believe Favre will always be Favre and can only be contained for so long.  Eventually he'll pull the trigger and make a costly mistake and usually it's at the most crucial time/game.  Oh yeah, and I forgot, if they bench Favre, who is going to play?  I'd rather have Favre in and give your team a chance of winning even if he does throw ints than a nobody QB that'll throw ints anyways and doesn't give your team a chance to win.
