4, oldest is 8, then a 6yr old, then 12wk old twins, I have a stepdaughter who's 13 as well!

I have an 18.5yr daughter and twin sons who are 8.5yrs old.

I personally like the 10yr age gap. My oldest didn't need my attention as much, was able to do a lot of simple things on her own and was really helpful when the younger two were born, which made taking care of them A LOT easier.

none and very very very happy. don't know how people can afford them. OH yeah apart from child benefit etc. A report in the times a few weeks ago showed that it costs aprox 5,000 per year to raise a young child (and thats just for reeboks, ipods, wii's, 32 inch wide screens for bedroom)

I have two sons. One is 5 and the other is nearly 3. I think the small age gap is really good as although they are still a similar enough age to play together well, I like my eldest being a few years older as I know he will look after his little brother in the future

I don't think there's ever a right or wrong age gap. If they're close in age they can play together but this might mean they fight. If there's a big age gap the older one might take the other under it's wing or alternatively resent it for being born now. I think it depends on the children's characters and the way you bring a new baby in to the family. If you want another baby just make sure your older one doesn't feel left out when it's born.

My older sister and I were 5 years apart . She always looked after me and now we're really close. I've got a 5 year old son now and can't have more children yet due to circumstances but might in the future. The age gap won't deter me.

I have one daughter who is 2 years and 4 months old.

She is my only child but my partner has a son from a previous relationship who is 18 years old.

So there was 16 years between them. I would not recommend that big of an age gap though!
