  1. here is a list of the reptiles you will be able to keep.

    http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/resour...

follow that link and it should work...

  2. Hi,

you can legall keep over 200 different species of reptile in most australian states im not going to name every single species but there are so many to choose from there are frogs, turtles, lizards and snakes but it all comes down to personal choice in qld you can legall catch and keep upto 4 frogs as long as there on your propety as l;ong as once you are sick of them you relese the back on your propety which is good so basically its all upto you on what you want to buy and how much you want to spend as most start from about 30ea to about 10 grand per animal and more for different morphs.

  3. you can only get australian kinds. some popular lizards are beardies, blue tongues, shingle backs, water dragons and frilled necks. Use yahoo or google and search pet australian reptiles and you should find some other interesting types. Some other herps you can get in australia are australian green tree frogs, white lipped tree frogs, dainty green tree frogs, olive pythons, childrens pythons, spotted pythons, carpet pythons, long necked turtles and a variety of other native turtles.

  4. Ben is right - but note that shinglebacks like really dry weather, the humidity in Qld can be a problem for them.

  5. Thats a huge list your after mate, each state also has their own laws on what species can be kept.

Heres a list of the reptiles native to Queensland, most could probably be kept if you could find a breeder - note its illegal to take from the wild, and you will need a reptile license.

The only ones I know of that are definately illegal to keep by a private individual is the crocodiles - freshwater and saltwater.

    Hope this helps.
