billruss gave you the correct answer.  However that would work for new batteries.  After time they lose their capability and the KWH will decrease.  Also the 12 volts would decrease to something less a long time before the 4 hours were up

There are a lot of variables here.

Car batteries come in different sizes, and their storage capacity

varies inversely with the load drawn.

(Slower draw, more capacity).

If we take an average of 200 Amp./Hr.s, per battery at 12 V. we get

2.4 Kwh per battery, so 10 batteries would give you 24Kwh. if you drew

it slowly enough. (Over 12 Hr.s or so.)

There are different sizes so the answer will vary.

I used to work on powered wheelchairs and they used two 12 v, 40 amp hour batteries.  So 12v x 40 amp for one hour would be 480 watt-hour.  So for the two of them that's about 1 kwh.  The wheelchairs were good for about 20 miles of use before having to be recharged.

Like I say you have to know the size battery you will be using.  There was a kit that allowed 55 amp hour batteries to be used for instance and that would increased it by 55/40 = 1.375.

You haven't specified so i show sample:

I have 10 batteries ; each :12V 100Ah

One battery can supply :12Watts (if current=1A) for 100 hours

so it store 12*100 =1200 watt hours = 1,2 kWh

so 10 batteries can store 12kWh

theoretically it will be at all currents (24W =2A*50hours .....) but practically battery's capacity decreases at higher currents-in my sample battery can give 1A for 100hours  but the same batery 10A for 7 hours.so its capacity only 70Ah
