  1. Biking is great exercise, so do it as much as you like.  Do stop if anything starts to hurt, as a bike that doesn't fit you well can actually injure you.

Don't worry about losing weight so much as being fit, healthy and happy.

Take the junk out of your diet, especially fizzy soft drinks, even diet ones and start eating a lot of healthy green vegetables.  It may seem like a chore, but you'll feel great.  With me, when I cut out breads and starches and sugars, my energy level went way up and I was eating less.  Without cravings, you'll be less tempted to chow down on junk.

Start the day with some light calisthenics.  Do some jumping jacks, swing your arms, touch your toes, twist your middle—that kind of thing for just a few minutes a day in the morning to get your blood flowing. When your energy is up, you'll burn more calories during the day in everything you do.

When you're healthy, fit and happy, people will be attracted to you, even if you have a few extra pounds. Remember to smile.

Have a great year at school!

  2. From your stats, you don't seem fat at all to me, but quite petite instead..

But fat or skinny, a bit of regular exercise is not such a bad idea.

I agree with you about running - all that pounding on the ground is not my idea of fun either.

About the riding laps bit - It all depends on how long the lap is, and one can only do so many laps before getting a bit bored.

To make cycling fun, I'd have a variety of routes to choose from, with varied terrain & distances. Maybe go riding with some friends & make a social occassion out of it.

By the end of the month, you'll be that much fitter, healthier & happier - which is more important that losing at most a few pounds.

Life is better on a bike
