How many laptops can you bring from US?

One of my relatives is having his own laptop. Can he get a new laptop bought in US and leave it in India.

How many laptops can a person having tourist Visa get from US to India

 i am a little specticle about it coz in my last trip i had two laptops when i came back, and when i was generaly stopped an asked that how many laptops m carry i said two, which became a hassel for me. So my guess is that u can carry any no. of laptops onless no-ones ask you about it(frankly therz no checking if ur coming throug the Green Channel). To be on safer side two is the no. one of our own and one new laptop bought from US(condition that you should declare your laptop{during immigration} before leaving india). Good Luck!
