Fidel's had a 40 plus year track record of torturing and jailing dissidents, yet gets clueless Hollyweird types like Ollie Stone, Harry Belafonte and others to go down their and sing his praises. China slaps Tibet around a bit and the leftists are in a tizzy? What gives?

China is allowing capitalism. To the Left, this is China's sin. Not its abuse of human rights, civil rights, and its seizure of Tibet. You see, therein lies the difference between China and Cuba.

China's record for brutality makes Castro look like a piker.

Castro took away the estates of some robber barrons almost half a decade ago, and people like you seem to think this petty little dictator on a tiny island is the second coming of the Death Star.

Castro is small potatoes, confined his own tiny island. China has the wherewithal to seize neighboring nations and try to expunge the very existence of their culture.

To compare the two is a disservice to whatever you had that passed for an education.

Mainly because we know that the only reason the Cuban government stays in power is because the right -wing has kept them isolated with that stupid embargo. Without it, the Cupan communists would be out of power in 5 years.

More to the point--why does the right wing give China a freee pass--they have an even worse record, with child and slave labor, the continued occupation of Tlbet, etc. Not to mention allowing China to import poisoned toys, medicines, etc. tha tarekilling Americans?

Oh, yeah--the neocons gGod told them to wink at China's crimes. The god of money, that is. That's all they worship.  Let the Chinese kill and cripple American kids--just make sure next quarter's profits are up.
