  1. They have 8.

    Males can't have 9... that 9th one isn't a leg!

  2. All spiders have 8, if they don't have 8 then they are not a spider.

  3. Not just all spiders, but all arachnids have 8 legs.  They also have two pedipalps which are arms/grabbers.  They are used to hold prey and in males they are used in mating.  In some species of spider they could look like a 5th pair of legs.  In Scorpions, whip scorpions, and psuedoscorpions, the pedipalps are modified into pincher claws.  In tailless whip scorpions, they are modified into raptoral claws to grab prey (kinda like a mantis).  In solpugids (camel spiders), they are modified into long feelers and look like a 5th pair of legs.

Also, an FYI about the "9th leg", spiders don't have those.  The males eject sperm onto a web mat and soak it up with the pedipalps like a syringe, then inject it into the female during mating.

  4. Did you start first grade yet? EIGHT legs on spiders SIX on insects.

  5. Males have 9 females 8

  6. They all have 8 & I never heard of a uncommon spider.

  7. A spider is an arachnid, which are characterised by having 8 legs.

  8. most of them have 8

  9. Lady Barker--Haha, that could be true.

    --Anyways...spiders usually always have 8.

If it doesnt, it might not be a spider but an insect that looks like one.
