How many licks does it take to get to the center of a lolipop?

We actually did this for a science fair project!!!

We tested how many licks it would take to get to hte center of a red tottsie pop. (We tested red ones only, to make sure that there was as little difference in result as possible. You never know if one flavor was applied more than another.)

We did 15 test trials,but the ean average was....

982 licks to the center of a tootsie pop.

(Meaning that no more "lollipop" was visible... only tootsie roll).

I actually tried this myself and it took me 600 licks. My tongue hurt after that so I couldn't talk for a few hrs
