  1. Light has no volume, thus cannot fill a gas tank.

If you are asking about energy equivalence, please frame your question correctly.

A gallon of gasoline is thought to about 33 kilowatt hours.  Thus one 3 watt bulb left on for 1,000 hours uses the same energy as a gallon of gasoline.

Thus, one 60 watt bulb, approx 500 hours

ten 60 watt bulbs, 50 hours, and so forth

  2. zero, the alternator runs with the engine when it is on.  You just have to do some driving and it will charge the battery.  It doesn't use any more gas with lights on than off.

  3. I have left my house lights on constantly for a week, then checked my gas tank, and never noticed even one extra gallon of gas in it.  I have concluded that it is impossible to fill a gas tank by leaving lights on.

  4. U need at least 1 to see where u pump the gas into

  5. You seem to be comparing apples and oranges.

Most electricity in the US is from coal fire plants, oil products are used very sparingly in the elec. bus., maybe just for peaking stations.
