  1. Camilla was blonde.  She may be the first Queen of England!


  2. Queen Elizabeth I was known to have red hair.  I've searched and found no other references to true hair color for British queens.  Sorry, wish I had more info.......your question is interesting!

Paintings of Margaret of Anjou, wife of Henry VI show her with blond hair.  Isabella the Beau, wife of Edward II was described as having "fair" hair, meaning light brown or blond.  Elizabeth Woodville, wife of Edward IV was also described as having fair hair.  Henry VIII, mother, Elizabeth of York appears to have had strawberry blond hair.  Charles I's wife, Henrietta Maria appears fair-haired in portraits, and photos of Queen Alexandra of Denmark and Mary of Teck show blond hair.
