I know here in Canada, our gas prices are very high, running at approx.$1.28/litre. According to the news, people in the U.S. are upset at their gas prices. A friend told me, gas in the U.S. is at $4.00/gallon. My question is, approximately how many litres are there in a U.S. gallon?

  1. 1 liters = 0.264172052 US gallons

        so...

    1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters

    Your gas is more expensive!

  2. There are 3.785 litres per 1 US gallon.

So, to do the math to convert your fuel price.

    $1.28CDN x 3.785(L to gal) = $4.845CDN

    $4.845CDN x 0.9909(exch. rate) = $4.80USD/gal.

  3. As a round figure, think of it as about 4 liter = 1 gallon.

    Simple.

    Good Luck...

  4. 3.8 L/US gal
