  1. Unicef is probably responsible for more death & misery

than if they ( Unicef )  did not exist..

  2. Deaths are countable, lives are not. Still, UNICEF has saved the lives of many millions of children since 1946 through such simple, low-cost techniques as growth monitoring, oral rehydration therapy, breastfeeding and immunization.

Beyond lives saved are lives improved. UNICEF improves the quality of life of millions, too.

  3. i never knew that unicef tries to save the lives of children ^_^, unless they can save children by writing sophisticated reports

but afterall unicef is better organized than other UN agencies (read: the bureaucracy there is the worst i think)

  4. Over 59 and the late Audrey Hepburn supported them and I think so did another actress, Shirley Temple.

  5. Impossible to say, but saving even one life is a worthy cause.  With just their breast feeding education program alone, they have claimed that six-million babies a year have been saved.  Bear in mind, that organizations live by their statistics - it is in the organization's best interests to inflate the numbers, and it is not really in anybody's best interest to deflate the numbers of a reputable child relief organization.

  6. Indefinite.  We could give you a figure at the point of this answer being posted, but that will change within a few minutes depending on the occurrence of a natural/man made disaster somewhere in the world.

Just as a gauge, their immunization program has the aim of averting 2 million deaths a year....

If you really are interested in obtaining an exact figure, you probably have to specify conditions for doing so.  I have attached the link to their annual report.  It is a good place to start.

    Good luck.

  7. That's difficult to fully assess.  With their focus on childhood vaccinations, disease reduction, improving sanitation etc.  the numbers are very high.  Check out the unicef web site, I'm sure you can find some information there.
