250 people invited. I have to make banana, zuchini, lemon poppy bread to be put on the cookie table. i'm thinking not everyone will eat the bread and some people might not show up i'm guess enough for 150 ? what do you think and how many loaves do i need?

  1. Figure on 85% of the number of guests invited showing up.  Each loaf of bread can be cut into 10 to 15 slices and each slice can be cut in half.  Which means that you're going to have a minimum of 20 to 30 pieces per loaf.  Give or take a few!  So, not everyone will take a slice of all the loaves, so I figure if you bake 3 - 5 loaves of each bread you'll have more than enough.  Also, take into consideration what other desserts you will be having in addition to your breads.

  2. Portion sizes are hard, and invariably there is wastage.

You've already cut down to 150, though a lot depends on presentation and the other food available - as well as the space.

3 loaves of each, saving one each for display, plus cutting the loaves into quarter slices could make a good arrangement and shouldn't detract.
