How many [male] guppies can live in my 10gal tank?

i recently bought a 10gal fish tank with pretty much everything except for the fish.

i am interested in keeping all male guppies but i don't know how many guppies can live in my tank.

  1. Actually your not supposed to keep all males cause they will fight, but I htink you could keep about 10.


  2. i had 2 mollies, and 2 tetras...

    and than my molly gave birth.. now i have 7 mollies, 2 tetras and 3 suckers... they're pretty happy.

  3. If you have good filtration, fully cycled, and keep up the water changes... about 20.

    But you WILL need to have a top notch filter or 2, and KEEP UP THE WATER CHANGES.

    If you follow the 1" rule, and put in 10, your tank will be fine, but with small fish like guppies you can push the limits a little.

    Of course for an easy care tank, stick to the 10

  4. The rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon. So if your tank is properly adjusted (good bacteria) you can have 10 fish or 12 if they are small.

  5. around 10ish should be fine.
