How many marine biologist study ray? Like the manta ray?

i would like to be a marine biologist and study rays but i dont know how many marine biologist study them. And how much do we already know about them? Thanks

  1. rays are elasmobranchs, cousins to sharks and skates. There are many scientists who study rays an skates since the number of these species is greater than the total species of sharks. Check the web site for THe American Elasmobranch Society and you will find contact people. I work with sharks and skates as my major research animal.


  2. there's a lot of research about manta ray....probably hundreds,you can look for them frequently on the net, just go surfing google,you probably be amazed by hundreds of scientific researches about it....good luck.

  3. well i think  marine biologists study all marine life but some specialize in one animal but its hard to guess how many people study them and we will never know everything about anything theres always somethin new bein discovered about something "old" so i whould say go for it!
