  1. i feed my geco, 4-5 small crickets a session. i have had both my lizards years an i would not feed them meal worms.  hint:

if you dont like to touch the crickets or you are scared of them. put them in the fridge for 5 minutes it wont kill them it makes them go dormant. get tweezers an use them to put them in the lizards home leave them the heat will warm them up an they will wake.

    hope this helps

  2. As many as it wants.  When it is finished eating it will walk away and leave the rest alone.

  3. Its total BS that mealworms can eat their way out of your gecko. Just give him as many as he will eat and make sure you dust with calcium every feed and a D3+calcium mix 2x a week

  4. i would give it 3 if the mealworms are small if big then one

  5. i personally wouldnt feed any to mine, coz of them being difficult to digest, the hard outer skin (chitin) can sometimes cause problems. i stick with black crickets brown crickets and locusts

  6. A 1 year old would be better off on small to medium sized mealworms but make sure you crush the meal worms heads first.Because the gecko is so young ,you cant be sure that it will bite the head while eating them or indeed swallow them whole. If swallowed live it has been known for them to eat their way back out and you end up with a dead lizard.I have seen this in a young beardie, not nice. But as mentioned it does need a varied diet so keep up with the crickets ,locust and fruit you can feed them.

  7. As many at it wants!

All of the concerns that reptiles can't digest mealworms properly or they have a poor nutritional value are based on paranoia - and bs.

I have found that mealworms will readily eat anything i give them so they are great gutloaders.

Also - mealworms are rarely carriers of parasites because of their thick chitin.

The key is to have VARIETY.

Don't just feed it mealworms, don't just feed it crickets or locust or waxworms, but don't be scared of feeding it large amounts of any on odd accasions.
