If China and the US keep increasing there medal hauls like they are?

China has collected more gold, and more medals than they ever have in their history. They have cemented themselves as a worlds sports power.

The suprising thing is, that at the same time time, the US is poised to have their biggest medal total since 1904 (if you count out the boycotted '84 games when they had little competition.)

So with both these countries trending upward in medals, How many are gonna be left for other countries to win in 2012?

20%

30%

40%

more?

let's hear it.

  1. Keep in mind though.....Yes China has the most ever this year, but they also got to put an athlete in EVERY sport.  If they would have had to qualify for them all, they would have never made it.  Because they were the host team, they got that advantage.  Also, they got the calls of the judges.  I can't wait to see what will happen in 2012, and we'll see what they can really do.  The US is just training harder.

  2. China should get less medals next time, not the host country

US can get more, or less, as your question stated the most since 1904, and it's 2008.

England, should get more medals in 2012, the home country, unless they take after Canada(only country that did not increase gold medal, only country to host a Olympic with out winning a gold)

There are plenty of medals to go around

  3. Well theres like over 900 medals available (300+events x 3 Medals) and U.S and China will take around 200 of those medals. So there will still be 700 or so Medals left for the rest of the countries. So the answer to your question in percentage is around 77%

  4. I would say 70%.
