  1. Question is probably trying to address the issue of claims that rugby union is an 'elitist' sport.

  2. Why don't you ask the Team Members? They can give you the BEST answer for your question!!!!

  3. They are not the UK winning ruby team, but the English winning ruby team, if wales/scotland where in the final, you would not call them UK  winning ruby team would you?

  4. 3 of the starting 15. Does it matter?

  5. Does it matter? My children go to a state school and they play rugby. Lots of state schools do.

  6. was it not an english team?

  7. The UK..........is made of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland...........the winning team last night came from England!

What difference does it make where they were educated anyway???????????????

  8. Check to see which ones were enjoying the team celebrations in the bath a bit more than the others.

  9. SMAC you deserve a smack for your incompetence at asking a question. As has been pointed out, there is no such thing as a UK rugby union team - it was England who played and won.

I assume that you are trying - albeit very clumsily - to make some point about the elitism of rugby in England. Well, you are about 10-15 years too late on that one. While it may have been true that the vast majority of the England squads of the 1980's and early 1990's had attended private school, that is no longer the case.

Does it matter anyway? Does anyone really care where the players went to school? It seems that the only people who do care are the old school socialists and arch-feminists who know nothing about the game but want to take a swing at it for any reason they can latch onto. Time to grow up, my lil commie friend.
