  1. no "real" man

  2. i have a 13yo girl and 15yo boy. I left for 8 months out of country  to inhance our bank account. I'm back and everyone is fine.

Years ago I was in the Navy and left on deployment many times once for 8 months. We had our first 2 kids then. Everyone is fine now it all worked out pretty well. (by the way we have 4 kids)

Do you know who sets the attitude or aire in a home? The wife. The wife can make the difference between "happy home and we will make it" and "sad angry home I can't believe your leaving".

The wife makes these things work. And it certainly is not the kids problem. There attitude (while young) will follow moms.

  3. Never...but my MIL did...she was a Make-up artist and would be gone for months on end.

My husband and his brothers were looked after by au pairs and Dad when he wasn't at work.

  4. You've hit on one reason why single people have a huge advantage over married and especially married with kids.  Unfortunately, the people with the titles and making the 7 figure incomes are not the ones who are always home by 6.  That's just the way it is

  5. Not a good one.  I didn't date a guy I really liked once I found out he moved 2000 miles away for a mediocre job.  They lived in a big city and he had an MBA, he could of done anything.

If there is ANY other option but moving away, even with less money...it should be taken. Anything else is selfish.

  6. Never!!!

  7. I was a fisherman and had to go to sea.

  8. My father in law.  He chose a career as a musician in Switzerland over his 2.5 yr. old son in the US.

  9. Tough question.  I don't know all the details, of course, but I'm in the Navy and routinely had to go to sea.  In 2005, I was deployed (as sea, away from family) for 221 days.  Why did I do it?  Because that's ow I provide for my family (wife and two daughters).  Also, I know that I'm one of the people that needs to do this particular job.  Could I work at Home Depot?  Yes, but I have particular talents that are needed in the Navy.  What I'm saying is that perhaps it isn't because of bad reasons.

  10. h**l no! i would never. that kid is mine and I would raise hi in person. not over the telephone
