How many mg of a mineral should I give a lima bean plant? URGENT?

I'm doing a science experiment with lima beans and how their growth is effected by different minerals. I plan to have 5 different groups, 4 with different minerals and 1 without any minerals at all. There will be 8 plants per group. I plan to have 100 mgs in each plant's soil, then water it with another 100 mg of the mineral every 3 days for 20 days.

What I need to know is: Is that too much? If so, how many mg's should I do and how often should I give the plant the dosage.

I need this to be answered soon, because the experiment needs to begin today!

  1. it only needs like 5 drops with a glass of water, i think. I'm not sure. i say this because my mom has a bottle of liquid stuff for the plants and it only needs around 5 drops(sorry i don't know how much a mg looks like right now. if you could tell me how much 100 Mg is similar to[like a spoon full]it would help)
