I have all stuff i need to breed bettas and currently have them in my spawning tank. All i need now is for my male to build his bubble nest.

I HAVE DONE ALL MY RESEARCH! DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT BREEDING BETTAS!!!!!

If i use a popsicle stick to harvest my microworms.....how big of an area should be covered with microwors???

  1. The amount of MW will depend on how big the batch of fry you have, you can start by dipping the popsicle stick in a bowel of water and feed the fry by pouring small amount at a time or by using a medicine dropper.

On a personal note, i prefer feeding them infusoria culture for a week or so, then shifting to BBS for another week or two before starting to weaning them of BBS and shifting to regular betta food,

  2. I'd go 1/2 an inch up the end of the popsicle stick, covered in microworms. Swirl the worms in a small amount of water so they're already floating in the water, then gently pour them in or use an eyedropper to distribute them around the tank.

In my personal experience, supplementing their diet with baby brine shrimp helps speed their growth. I use the San Francisco Bay Brand Shrimpery - it's so easy it's not even funny :P

    Good luck with your babies!!

  3. Try just the tip of the stick. BUT -- your fry will not need food for several days, as they will have a yoke-sack for food. Any food left uneaten after five minutes is that much too much food. Try to feed your fry several times a day if possible.

BTW watching the bettas spawn is AWESOME!!
