  1. miles per week really depends on the driver/trucking company...average is about 2000 miles per week( some may drive less but some may drive many more)

trucks have different size fuel tanks depending on the truck manufacturer/how truck was ordered from the factory.  Size range from 50 gallons to 150 per tank, usually having one or two tanks.

  2. I work for a major trucking company and we hual mainly automotive freight. there are many variable answers to your question, but on average the mileage per truck is going to be around 100  to 120,000 miles per year, that is 1 driver 1 truck, if the truck is running with  2 drivers "team" in one truck it is possiable to run near 200,000 miles a year in 1 truck

I would stick with the average of 100,000 miles a year

as for the fuel capacity an average tank on an average semi truck will hold around 120 gallons of fuel, and there are 2 tanks...240 gallons. we average around 7.8 miles to a gallon with our fleet.

  3. i drive a truck doing local deliveries and pickups.  it is not uncommon for me to run 250 to 300 miles a day in an 8 hour shift. and thats just running locally (local for truck drivers is 100 mile radius of their home terminal).

i was talking with one of my co-workers and he was telling me that he would usually run at least 200,000 miles a year back when he was driving OTR (over the road)

as for fuel capacity, our trucks have small tanks, 2 tanks that each hold 75 gallons of fuel.  many OTR trucks have 2 tanks that hold 300 gallons a piece.

with the price of diesel fuel here where i live (at 4.399 i believe it is) filling those tanks up from having 1/4 tank left would run about $2000 (ouch!)
