I clear the tripometer when I put gas in the tank. If I fill it until the pump clicks (Max capacity), How many miles can I drive it? I've read that as the car ages the Gas gauge can become inaccurate due to the Fuel components going bad. If I knew how many miles it could go I wouldn't be fooled by the gas meter. If it is lying then I'm wasting money when I buy more Gas when I don't have to.

  1. Your car has a 14 gallon gas tank.

The 2.2 liter engines had a bit better gas mileage than the 2.5 that Dodge used on the later models.

3-Speed Automatic 2.5's got roughly around 20/21 mpg in the city and 25/27 mpg on the highway.

The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder would normally get anywhere from 300 to 345 miles per tankful depending on conditions and your driving style. On average I would get about 315 miles per tankful before I'd fill up but did stretch it out to 377 miles while driving to Ohio. I don't recommend letting it go too far though.

  2. the one we owned would go around 350+ miles on a complete tank of gas before we had to fill it back up again it got around 30 miles to the gallon on the highway, and a good 22-25 in the city, those done real good on gas when they was tuned right the 2.2 and the 2.5 was both good engines,we never had any major problems from ours at all, good luck.
