  1. Like 1000. Seriously, they can go for a lot further than 200,000 miles if they have been and are taken care of in the future. You'll get sick of owning it before it wears out. That doesn't mean it will never need service. It will. It's a good machine, but still just a machine.

  2. It really depends on how the car was kept up.  Toyota makes a great car, my wife had a 93 Tercel and it had 220,000 when we traded it in.

I would have a mechanic look at it, they can tell you more about its internal condition.

  3. I agree that for a FIRST CAR, 1993 might be way too old because sure TOYOTAs are great and we have owned 5 from brand new...however we gave away our last one, 1993 TOYOTA CAMRY LE with 211,000 miles when little things going wrong started popping up too frequently that required me going back to my mechanic because my wife had gotten a brand new 2005 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER 6 cylinder AWD and old reliable Camry was not being driven enough.

Personally I would recommend you looking at Japanese made automobiles between 1998 and 2000, and then again make sure the owner had the oil changed regularly every 5K miles as well as the ATF Fluid every 30K miles esp engines, transmissions and certain electrical components are very costly then you most likely will require the services of a good mechanic at $60 or more per hour.

    Hope the Above Info Helps!
