  1. a 5k or 3.1 miles, at least for high school

  2. Depends on where your at, if your fast, probably 5-7 miles a day, if your starting probably 2-3 miles a day, and if your average then 3-5 miles a day. Weekends we usually go farther, around 10 miles. Beginners 4-5 miles and average runners 6-8 miles.

  3. In high school, at least 4. Depends on the school, and most jv races are 2 miles, varsity is 3 or 3.1 (5k).

  4. noooo...more like 8-12 miles....

  5. It depends on where you are and how old you are. If you are in middle school, it is anywhere from 2 to 2.5 miles. If you are in high school, it is usually 3 to 4 miles. However, during practice, sometimes we run the 10K.

  6. Races are 3-3.1 miles.

In practices they run much much more.  My team runs 2 miles as a warmup and if we do a long run we normally cover about 10 miles but cover 7 miles in other practices.  Some tougher teams cover longer distances such as 12-15 miles.

  7. 3.1 miles is the race aka a 5k. thats for highschool though. i run on average a 1mile warm up....then 3ish mile workout then a 1/2 mile cool down. but work up to it. only do a mile if ur jus startin out. or run for time. 15-20 minutes first week then work up to 30-40ish minutes all the way to an hour.

  8. different races are different distances. most are 2 or 3. if you look into races near by you can always find a 5k race. they are 3.1 miles with a set course. i run for my middle school (7th and 8th grade) and the coursed we race at range from 1.8 to 2.1. the high school i willbe going into races at courses right around 3 miles. so basically you have the right idea. cross country is soo much fun definitely keep up with it. =]
