  1. Regents science lab? lol

    This is what I put:

"It is 688.9 miles between two parallels that are 1 degree apart."

  2. The distance between two lines of latitude, from 0 degrees to 1 degree north, is  69.2 miles.

Circumference of the earth is about 24,901.92 miles. There's 360 degrees in a circle, so divide 24,901.92 miles by 360 degrees, and you get 69.172 miles per degree. it's also 1/360th of the circumference of the earth.
