  1. I guess you should also check insurance quotes for Buick Parkavenue before buying one, for example here: http://carinsurance.yoll.net

As I remember it is very expensive to insure.

  2. I would keep away from Park Aves that have over 60-70k miles on them.  The trusty 3.8L V6 can become finicky when it gets into higher mileage territory.

    Good Luck!

  3. anything over 100,000 miles is way too much for American cars specially a Buick, that's the way they are built so you have to buy a new one soon plus the quality of the metal used is also cheap that's why Japanese are so good making cars and sell more units in the united states than any American company... DON'T BUY THE BUICK YOU'LL THANK ME LATER.

  4. the 3800 is the best engine gm ever built.  Mileage is relative anyways.  It depends on how the miles are accumulated, city or highway.  Highway miles are not as bad as city driving due to the stop and go.  I just retired a 95 Buick Regal with the series 1 3800 and it had over 250,000 miles and was still running strong.  the problem is the rest of the car fell apart and was becoming unreliable.  I just commissioned a 96 Buick Regal with the Series 2 3800 that has 163,000 miles but the enitire car is in way better shape.  The engine runs very strong with tons of power and the trans shifts perfect.

It boils down to if the car was maintained properly and cared for.  I would not hesitate to buy a buick with over 100,000 miles.  These days, high mileage is not that uncommon due to more and more people having to commute farther and farther every day.  It's not like it used to be years ago when a car was thought to be on it's last leg when it approached the 100k mile marker.

  5. I have seen several of these go 250,000 to 300,000 miles with just a little maintenance so at 75,000 they are just getting broken in. The 3.8 is the best fwd that GM has...........UJN

  6. It's not so much the miles, it's the actual condition of the car. Have it checked by a qualifed mechanic. The car could have 120,000 miles and be in great condtion. Or it could have 20,000 miles and be a lemon. Only your mechanic can tell the difference. Don't take the word of the seller. He may or may not know of all the car's problems, if any.
