If I can't run, I'd like to ride a bike so I can still get the same cardio benefit.

  1. well ur question is kind of wrong u cant go by miles if ur riding a bike  cause different people peddle different i would go by time see how long it takes the average person to run a mile and take half of that time  or use that time and ride thats what i would do

  2. It depends on your goal. If it is fat burning, then, it is roughly 3.5 to 1. But, if you want to get the aerobic / cardio effect, you have to base on the speed (with 3 to 1 ratio roughly). So, if your running pace is say 9 min / mile, then you need to ride at a speed of 3 min. / mile (for the same duration).

    Hope this clarified your question.

  3. It is thought that 4 miles on a bike equal 1 mile on foot.

  4. One mile is one mile, whether running, biking, or walking.
