The car is a 1996 Monte Carloand I'm pretty sure it is an LS. I know how you drive effects mpg's but I just wanted a general idea...does it have good or bad gas mileage?

  1. Depends on the size of the car.

    Midsize car - 18 city/26-28 hwy.

    minivan - 14-16 city/ 22-25 hwy

    small SUV - 16 city/ 22-25 hwy

    midsize SUV - 14-16 city/20-24 hwy.

  2. Depends on the car, and the size of the V6...

  3. Not all engines have the same efficiency and the heavier the car the more energy (as fuel) it takes to move it a specific distance. Without knowing the engines efficiency and the weight of the car the question couldn't be answered with anything other than a WAG ( Wild @ss Guess). If these two are known then the question can be answered with a SWAG (Scientific Wild @ss Guess). For an accurate answer to be given the car in question would have to be driven and the mileage and fuel usage recorded to compute the actual MPG. Most of the MPG ratings of cars are SWAGs by the EPA using engine efficiency, vehicle weight and aerodynamic ratings. However every car is different and each individual driver can greatly affect the MPG by the way they drive. Rapid acceleration, hard stops and high speed highway driving greatly reduce the MPGs of any car.

  4. That depends upon how you drive it.  If you drive like the typical American idiot, your gas mileage will suffer.

  5. MPG is a function of the cars weight, aerodynamics, and most importantly, how and where you drive, and finally, the engine efficiency.
