Question:

How many minutes of recording time on a Sony Memory Stick Duo?

I just bought a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD610 camcorder that will record on either mini-DVD or a Memory Stick Duo.

My question is, there are many "sizes" ranging from 1GB to 16GB....how many minutes of recording time will I get per 1GB of memory ? They are kinda expensive and right now, only a 2GB is realistically in my price range....will I get at least an hour of recording time out of that ? I don't want to waste my money on a 2GB memory card if I'll only get say 15 minutes of record time on it.

Anyone have any experience with these and know how many minutes I can expect to get out of one of these memory sticks ?

Thanks for any help and yall have a blessed weekend....

  1. It all depends on the quality of the footage being recorded. At normal DVD quality, 2gb should give you about an hour, actually less than that because 4.7gb is two hours standard.

If you use lower settings, 2gb could get you longer.

  2. 12 minutes on a 1gb 640x480 30fps. 24 minutes 640x480 15fps. 320 x240 30fps 40 minutes. 320x480 15fps 80minutes. FOR OTHER SIZES USE YOUR FACTOR.
