  1. hey if its anythig like my hospital they give you a "really good" enama as soon as you get to the hospital!!! So chances of you having a bowel movement would be slim.

  2. omg i thought i was the only one worried about that.. i was pregnant and all i could think about was pooing in delivery in front of my mum n parnter.. lol even right down to when  i went in n was being prepard for it but after all that worrying i had to have a c section..

  3. I was worried about the same thing... just had my baby on the 17th.. I dont think I did.. at least not that anyone told me.

Its ok, seriously, at the time.. you dont care

  4. That was my biggest fear lol.. beings I would have my mother, my husband, his sister, his mother, and whoever else who decided to come in.

I think I did though.. but the doctor quickly took care of it for me before anyone saw.

Once labor started I stopped caring about that though, you probably will too.

Besides there is so much going on down there, other fluids coming out that no one would probably be able to tell, besides I doubt anyone would be looking just to see if you poo.

I'm sure your mom and mother-in-law will understand, and your husband will be more interested in the birth of his baby.

And if you do, its not like it's much.

  5. I did not, how ever once I had my epidural I broke wind several times and could not control it.  My sister was in the delivery room with me and we laughed hysterically about it.  I know people that have had BMs and it is really no big deal.  The nurses just clean you up real quick and everyone acts like nothing happened.  Everyone will tell you, once you are in the delivery room that will be the least of your worries!  Congrats and good luck!

  6. I'm pretty sure I didn't... I pushed once with my first and twice with my second (he was a 10 1/2 lb'er... he needed a bit more effort!).  Plus, my bowels had completely cleared out at the beginning of labor.  I was on the pot for about a half hour with the runs before I headed to the hospital.  I don't think I had anything left in me to push out other than a baby!

Seriously, though... like all the other ladies said- you really don't care at that point.  Don't stress!

  7. I don't think I did. Honestly, I don't know if I did or not...afterwards I was too busy watching my baby. I asked my fiancee later if I did or not and he didn't know either. There's so much going on at the moment that it really doesn't matter.

  8. yes i did a little bit!

i was worried to but i know it sounds a little cliched but you just DONT CARE!!! i thought i would but i didnt!! especially after 30 hrs labour

congrats on the baby!!!!! its only a little bit anyways

  9. lol i had the same fear, most times during early labor your body will make you have an elimination and it is usually runny. I was induced and i didn't have a bowel movement before they induced me. I was freak in out that i would do a poo on the table. So i told my support people that if i did do one not to tell me cause i would just die from embarrassment. so to this day i don't know if i did or didn't. I know when i pushed i farted a few times and i kept on saying sorry to everyone!! but hey if you can't f**t in front of good friends and family why have em in the room with ya!!!

Everyone is so focused on baby that it really doesn't matter if you do!

  10. Though I'm not the best one to answer this as I ended up having a C section, I had worried horribly about that too. If it's something you're extremely worried about, I've been told you can have an e***a to clean you out first. Or...are you sure you're comfortable with all those people in the delivery room?? Sounds like maybe if just your hubby in there maybe you wouldn't worry so much about it. As far as the doctors and nurses- they're used to that happening all the time- it won't phase them. Any how, best of luck!! In the end you won't be thinking about that if it does happen once you see your little bundle!

  11. I didn't or at least not that my husband noticed.  By the time you are giving birth you really don't care about anything like that!  Just a FYI that I wasn't aware of, they will insert a catheter while you are in labor and take it out right before you deliver.

  12. Ok, I did  not. I was excused the whole pushing/pooping event by an emergency c-section, but I'd have rather had a c**p on the table in the middle of the Ritz Hotel then had an ill baby delivered as an emergency :)

I have heard (because I obsessed over this as one of my three big labor fears), that it is remarkably common and the nurses just get rid of it quick and no one cares. My friend, who had hers naturally said her one BIG regret was that they made a video of the birth and loud and clear she is heard to ask her husband "honey did I p**p?" forever embedded on that tape. So, the deal here is, don't ask/don't tell and just have a nice happy delivery.

  13. I didn't the first two times, but I'm just about positive I did this time.  My husband says I didn't, But I felt the dr wipe my behind after delivery (TMI sorry)

My sister did with one of hers and her husband didn't notice either.  The doctors are so used to it they are great about removing it before anyone else sees or you notice.

I can also tell you at the time of delivery you stop caring if you "go" on the dr, even though I was SOOOOOOO worried about doing it before hand.

  14. I hear it can happen in small quantities, but it's your body's natural reaction to poo enough before labor, so most typically, you're already cleaned out.  The two weeks before my due date I'm going to make certain I'm going every single day and they are not 'hard' poops.  If they are or I'm not going as often as I think is enough, I'll take a little Metamucil.  It's also a good idea because the first p**p post delivery is a scary one, so you want to be certain things are 'smooth'.

The other thing you can do is to request an e***a upon being admitted.  That's kind of a gross and private process, but it can set your mind at ease that you wont poo on the table.  My sister in law did during the pushing stage only, but she had asked the nurses to please 'clear away' the pad as soon as this happens if it does.  THat set her mind at ease knowing it would be 'swept away' quickly.  And when you're in labor, you don't really care at the moment anyway.

  15. I just gave birth in June and I was sooo worried about this happening. My girl friends told me to try to have the movement at home before labor, but when the time came, I couldn't. It ends up it didn't happen. I had an epidural (trust me get it as soon as they'll give it you) and so  I couldn't feel myself pushing, so I don't think I was pushing the way that passes stool. It ends up the hemorrhoids are much worse, and a horrible sight too.

I know you've heard a hundred times before, but by the time this happens, if it does happen, you will either not even notice (they clean it up super quick) or you won't care. I didn't care about everyone watching my catheter being put in. eeewwww
