Just wondering...My husband and I have been trying for almost a year...

Any tips or advice? Do you know any reasons (other than the obvious) why you conceived so fast or why it took so long?

Thanks.

  1. it too us 1 month we just pop my last period date in to the ovualtion calculator online and it tells you when you are most fertile and we did it in that time. but relax and dont try so hard and it will happen.

    good luck to you both

  2. My husband and I conceived on our second month of trying. Age was on our side- we were 26. Good luck!

  3. 2 1/2 years. It happens when its supposed to. I never understood why until now. things just seemed to fall into place. My baby actaully saved my life. after i got preg. durring my first ultrasound at 6 wks to see the heart beat my dr. found a tumour the size of a small melon outside my uterous. I just had surgery at 16 weeks pregnant. if i would have concived earlier the tumour might have been so small the drs. might have missed it. things happen when they are supposed tp. and its not a religous things its more of a natural thing. I know it feels like forever and that "is it ever going to happen" but it will..and when it does it will be totally worth it. Good luck to you both...

  4. It took my husband and I 1 month to conceive. I have been charting my menstrual cycle for over a year before we started trying using mymonthlycycles.com. It tells when you are most fertile, when you should expect your next period, ovulation, and even your average cycle. It also helps if your husband wears boxers, and lays off the caffeine. Being overweight can restrict your fertility as well.

  5. Trying??? LOL this was an accident

  6. I came off the pill and was pregnant by the next month but that pregnancy ended in miscarriage, I am now 10 weeks pregnant which only happened 2 cycles after the miscarriage, and with my first I got pregnant on the pill so we weren't really trying

  7. Baby #1:  Diagnosed with PCOS in May.  Put on treatment (Metformin, birth control and anti-testosterone meds).  Sick in November.  Discovered I was pregnant in December.  Theory is that the BC was too low dose.  Since I had been told that we couldn't have children and the whole goal had been to reduce my symptoms to increase our chances of conceiving, we were overjoyed.

Baby #2:  Baby #1 had stopped nursing thereby allowing me to return to my PCOS treatment.  First time together after I started my pills (one week), conceived immediately.   Due October 19th.

We plan to do the same for our third.  For some women, it does absolutely nothing.  For others like me, Metformin is a regular "baby maker" which greatly increases fertility.

  8. With my first, Taylor, it took my husband and me 2 years to conceive. We ewre overjoyed. Everyone was. Now he is 6 months old and I am 9w 2 d pregnant. I was using the ring and antibiotics at the same time. (I didn't think the ring could be made ineffective by antibiotics but apparently it can.) So first time was hard but the second time around was MUCH easier.lol.

  9. 8 months, once we stopped tryin it happened

  10. it took us one time. We decided to give it a shot and it worked. I also know my body very well. i have not been on any birth control for 5 years. I just knew what days to avoid intercourse, and it has always worked. I have a very regular 28 day cycle, so i knew what days i would be most fertile, and it worked. I just found out yesterday! know your body! listen to it. Pay attention to the mucus! thats the biggest sign you are ready to go! goodluck!!!!!!

  11. I found out i was pregnant with my daughter 2 months after unprotected s*x... 3 months after my daughter was born, i was pregnant again and now, almost 3 yrs have passed after i had my son and we have been having unprotected s*x for almost 2 months and i'm not pregnant

  12. months????? hahaha with our first child it took 1 years 1/2 and for the second one 7 years. apparently my thyroid gland wasn't working and it took that long to notice. once that was regulated i was pregnant within 2 months.

never give up on the dream.

  13. This is my third pregnancy (2 mc to date).  Each one has been almost exactly 12 months apart.....don't know why, must be a really bad time of year for TV lol...enjoy trying and good luck xx

  14. We tried for 5 months. Here's some things I did, though.

Try to have some kind of beans with dinner every night. The zinc in beans increases the sperm count drastically.

Take a spoonful of Tussin (cold medicine) every night before bed leading up to and during your fertile time. It thins out your cervical mucus allowing the sperm to swim through easier.

Also, start taking prenatal vitamins now since you're trying. You can buy them anywhere over the counter. It will help your body prepare for pregnancy and fight against defects in baby.

Have s*x every OTHER day during your fertile time. The sperm need a day to replenish. This one is completely optional, but I elevated myself with two pillows so the sperm didn't run right out afterwards and stayed that way for about 10 minutes after s*x.

    Hope this helps!

  15. I'm turning 21 in september and my daughter is turning one two days after me.

We were not using any protection (I knew it was stupid so please no one tell me how dumb we are) and it took us 2 years to finally get pregnant. I don't know why it took so long!

P.s. Please don't comment back telling me how irresponsible I am and blah blah because I know!

  16. The first month we tried I used a web site called fertilityfriend.com.  It helped me know when I was ovulation.  And I also tried ovulation kits

  17. With my first child it was a surprise.  We got pregnant a few weeks after we were married.

With our second child we decided to try again and not even a month later it happened.

With our third child ( this pregnancy)  we tried for 7 months before I became pregnant.  I had a little bit of a harder time this last time.  After 5 months of no success I tried preseed and I got pregnant during the 2nd cycle using it.  I recommend it & my hubby loved it too :)  Good luck to you !!

  18. it took 16 months.  the first year we just timed it.  after that my sister in law told me her mother put a pillow under her bottom afterward and propped her legs up on the wall for awhile.  i figured what the heck, and 4 months later i was pregnant!!!

  19. i would go see your gynecologist and discuss this with them. i had no trouble having my babies but my sister had fertility problems and had to have invitro.  it may be something very simple as taking your temperature to know when you are ovulating. have you  tried buying the ovulation tests so you know when you are the most fertile? you can get them where you buy pregnancy tests.

call your dr if you have no luck thats what they are there for
