  1. Between three and six months, depending on the baby. Some infants need it eariler has formula or breast milk does not fill them up and the more they drink the more weight they will put on. So if an infant is drinking more formula then needed try introducing pabulem and bananas first, then bring in squash and carrots for veggies.

  2. i have always started around 4-6 months

i would put some rice cereal in his bottle to give it some more substance if you want, but thats kinda iffy, it could constapate him

  3. Simple answer, he is too young.... However, this is not the sort of question that you should be asking people here. As a medical professional, I would advise you to speak with your doctor about this, because it could be one of many things, actually.

Does he vomit often? Is the vomit curddled right after drinking milk? Does he seem fussy while eating, even though you arfe givng him that much? If so these could be signs of acid reflux, which is common in many babies. It is one of the main reasons babies of that age eat that much.  Because the acid is hurting their digestive system, and drinking more milk gives it a short term fix...

Then you could also be facing things like an in adiquate milk supply if you are nursing.

As you can see, it's not that simple (and I am a mom of three, all of whom started eating solid foods before the AAP recommendation of six months). But at 9 weeks, they are simply too young.... their digestive tracts can not handle the solid state of the food (even baby food), nor have they developed the muscle movements the tongue and throat need to safely swallow the food.

Please speak with your child's doctor and look for the cause of his increased/unsatisfied hunger.

PS, Also, please do NOT give your child water to 'fill them up', like some people might suggest.  Recently released studies have found that babies under SIX months of age are unable to process straight water and are at increased risk of water intoxication, which can be fatal.

  4. Give him a sample of it and see if he could digest it.

  5. 6 months. hang tight

  6. if he knows how to eat and can hold his head up then feed him my girl is 3 months and she eats or if he can't put a lil baby cearal in his bottle it will fill him up.

  7. He is still too young for solids. You need to check with his doctor to see what is going on and what you need to do.

  8. between 4 and 6 months

earlier is too hard for the baby to digest

  9. It all depends on the baby. My daughter ate rice cereal mixed with formula around 4 months old. My pediatrician told me to and she was ready because she was gulping down her bottles. She absolutely loved it.

  10. minimum age is 4 months. before this your baby does not have the ability to take food from the front of their mouth to the back and swallow it. at a younger age a child will either spit out the food or aspirate it. i wouldnt give him cereal in his bottle either, this is a choking hazzard. offer formula as often as he is hungry and let him have as much as he wants. at your next doctors apointment talk to your doctor about it and see what else he may suggest.

  11. Every baby is different...only you know your own baby. Some babies start early some babies start later....no strangers can tell you when to start your baby on solid food. If you think your baby is ready...then try it out a little bit and see how he takes it. But 9 weeks seem a little too young...I've never heard of any babies start that early...and I don't think any pediatrican would suggest on starting your baby on solids just yet.

  12. This is a controversial subject.  My pediatrician said when the baby was not satisfied with formula or breast milk and often times drooling a bit which she said is a natural response to aid in digestion it is time to start food. She believes that rice cereal is not a good first because it is just a overrated filler food. She suggests mashing up bananas and adding formula or breast milk until it is very runny and giving only a small spoonfull which amounts to them really only getting a taste. But as they desire more, they will get better with what they desire to take in. She said to let the baby be the guide. Because all babies are different. However, the American Academy of Peditricians said it is advisable to wait until 6-9 months before starting solids. So it is up to you. There is a fantastic book called Super Baby Food which I highly recommend.

  13. At least six months.  Their intestines have to go through a process where they are completely mature and therefore cut down on allergies and bad reactions.  Also if your baby cannot support itself sitting it will be easier for them to choke on it.  Another thing to look for is if your baby has lost their tongue thrust.   That will not allow for the baby to keep the food in their mouth or let alone swallow it.  Hang in there your baby will thank you when he is allergy free!

  14. just keep feeding your little man the formula it is the best for him. just keep it at 6-8 oz in the bottles. if he doesnt finish the bottle thats okay. it better to make to many oz than to not make enough. i did that and my daughter drinks 8 oz now of formula and she is 6.5 months. you dont need to start solids till your sons dr. tells you that he is old enough and healthy enough to handle solids. you'll do great dont rush him to grow faster. he knows his pace and what he needs. you are a good mom. a good mom will ask for help and advice ijstead of assume of what to do and be wrong about it. You go MOM!!!! Your doing great and your son loves you for that.
