How many months old should a baby be to safely get a tattoo?

What kind of parent would allow this to happen. 21st centry or not ... its just wrong. Poor little mite, I held each of my twins for their jabs in recent months and i cried for them, why would you allow somebody mark your child for life........ for no reason. Is this for real .... does any body know anyone that has got this done.

I think a person should at least get a chance to be old enough to ask for one and also tell you to stop if they change their mind.  Call me crazy, but isn't this a little over the top.  Maybe you could get his/her ears pierced instead.

3-4 months (i believe) but the baby will grow so try to have it done on a place where it would stretch more evenly...

noone is going to tattoo a baby!! my cousin was 17- turning 18 in like 6 days and they wouldnt tattoo her becuase she was under 18 so what makes you think they are going to tattoo a 5 month old baby?

if you are so set on your baby having a tattoo go get a henna tattoo. they last a few weeks and wash off

Yes, give your child another reason to hate you.  Why would you permanantly place something on your child, that he/she may despise when they get older.  Just because you like tattoos, dos not mean your child will.

Think about that now, did you like everything that your parents did, trust me I didn't and they were good parents, but I would hate them if they got something permanantly on me that I thought was stupid or outdated  or God knows what else.

Let your child decide when they are an adult or old enough to know the circumstances of having a tattoo.

It's parents like you that make me fear for the youth of America.  A parent needs to be a guide and not a buddy, and let them make decisions on their own and not to "force" something on them.

They say 3 months for a tattoo is ideal. Just keep in mind baby is growing so you will want to put it in a place that will stretch evenly over the years.

You mean to tell me you are going to give your child a tattoo? That is stupid. They shouldn't get a tattoo untill they are 18, I mean come on. My son got a wash off tattoo when he was around the age of 4, he is 6 now and that is still all he is allowed to get. He is not going to be able to get a tattoo until he is 18, but still I do not want him to get one. Do you think your baby will like having a needle stabbing him in the skin? It is the 21st century but people should not be putting tattoos on their babies. Get a life.
